I have been doing a lot of research on women entrepreneurs for my www.helpingmillionsmakemillions.com movement. My goal is to help a million women make a million dollars by turning their passion into profit and then helping millions more through my charitable foundation. So, that said, here’s a theme I’ve noticed. They ALL believed in what they were doing even when everybody else told them they were crazy. They ALL put in more hours than they ever thought they would. They ALL made a choice, a conscious choice, to be successful and stayed true to that choice. They ALL donate money to their favourite charities. They ALL relied on their own hard work to make things happen: not lady luck, not lotteries and not Oprah…
Wait: what did I just say? I speak to a lot of women who say things like “If I just get on Oprah I know I’ll be successful.” While that would most assuredly be true if that’s what you’re waiting for stop what you’re doing and go watch Oprah instead. Seriously, if you believe that the only way you will be successful is to land on the Oprah show then give it up.
I am reading a book today while some of you may be familiar with: Harry Potter, the series of books by J. K. Rowling. Now, she’s been on Oprah but she had already reached billionaire, yup with a b, status at that point. She was a single mom with a story in her head that just had to be told. She didn’t know if it would be successful she just knew she had to get the words out of her head. Wow, good thing she listened to her intuition!
So, my lovely friends, if you’ve been downsized, seen supersize me and are now wanting to start your own business do it the way Oprah did: hard work, staying power, giving your customers what they want and then maybe, just maybe, you’ll be a guest but don’t wait for her to call, turn your passions into profit anyway and then, if she calls, well how cool would that be?
