Would you do this?

May 12, 2011

I’m so impressed with this business I just have to share this with you. First, I don’t know the owner of this spa, in Georgetown Ontario but I will for sure. I also don’t make any fees from sharing this story, I’m doing it because it’s so great.

Greta, the owner of the Spa on Main, seems like a smart enough person and so, when I called her up to place an order for a gift certificate, she was able to help me out very easily. Greta helped me decide what exactly I needed for the gift and the best service for the person receiving the gift. I am going to a baby shower for my best friend’s son and his wife this weekend. The mom is registered at a baby store and I had dropped in to pick something up but, honestly, I wasn’t feeling very inspired. You know those new moms, the exhausted, tired, stressed out moms who could use a break but never take one for themselves? Do you know somebody like that, maybe it’s you, maybe it’s not: but that was what I was thinking about at the baby store and that’s how I came to think about a few hours at a spa for the new mom instead of something for the baby. Don’t get me wrong, I love babies, but we all know if mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy: spa day it was.

I called up my sister who has lived in the area for ages and asked for her recommendation for a good local spa and she suggested The Spa on Main. I called Greta, she helped me out and then she offered to deliver the gift certificate to my friend’s house in time for the shower: no charge. Wow, that’s going an extra mile or two or three. She even offered to pretty up the package to make it look like a baby shower gift, now I’m really impressed. Would you do that? Would you do that extra little thing that you didn’t have to do in your business? Let me tell you folks, if you over deliver on the goods, odds are, you will thrive in your business and isn’t that what you truly want to do?

Now go be fearless, Jan
