Soap box rant inspired by Arlene Dickinsonand her talk yesterday. She speaks of visiting the Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan and the democracy we enjoy in Canada..I am a pacifist and am able to be so, largely because I live in Canada. Seriously folks, if you live in North America you have absolutely no excuse, none, not one, for not doing what you want in your life. Poverty, victim, drug abuse, unemployed…do you know how many people sacrifice their lives, literally, to try to get to Canada? Stop the excuses, get out of your own way, go live the fearless life you were meant to live.

Have you ever watched a movie, commercial, youtube video where the person being featured is facing insurmountable odds? Perhaps it is a person with no limbs who chooses to be a competitive swimmer or a person with no vision who chooses to skateboard or a person with no hands who chooses to learn how to paint with their mouth? So many obstacles and yet they manage to overcome them. Why is it that these images, these people, inspire us so much? I believe it’s because they are making a choice to be fearless despite all odds and that is an extraordinary thing.
